The SharpLsp tutorial in VS Code: open an F# and a C# file, hover, complete, go to a definition, find references, fix code with a code action, and open the Solution Explorer
Transcript
This is the SharpLsp tutorial, F# first. Press Cmd+P and open a source file, and SharpLsp starts working on it straight away.
Rest the mouse on a function. SharpLsp shows the signature the F# compiler inferred, with its doc comment.
Type a dot after a value, and completion lists what fits there: the List functions, then the fields of a product.
Put the cursor on a symbol and press F12 to go to its definition.
Shift+F12 finds every reference to it, across the solution.
This match leaves a case out, so F# warns. Press Cmd+. on the warning, and pick the fix that generates the missing case.
Click the SharpLsp icon in the Activity Bar to open the Solution Explorer: the solution, its projects and their files.
Now C#. The same seven steps, starting with Cmd+P to open a C# file.
Hover a method to read its XML docs, and hover var to see the type behind it.
Type a dot, and completion offers LINQ's methods, then the record's properties.
F12 jumps to where a method is defined.
And Shift+F12 lists everywhere a type is used.
This call names a method that does not exist yet. Press Cmd+. on the error, and generate it. Each step ticks itself off once SharpLsp answers.
